The day after a tragic event at VT. My family and I am very grateful that my grandson who is a freshman cadet at VT is ok. There were a few hours of concern since we didn't hear from him. We had a prayer hot line going for him for a couple of hours and then for those parents and families who were going to get a call that their loved one was injured or deceased. I don't know why our youngest, our brightest and best are being murdered throughout the world. It would be easy to pin it on the war-like energy of the current administration but these events were occuring before this president took office. It is interesting to note that in the rest of the world the young people are killed by adults when the incidents occur in schools. In this country, we have young people killing young people. I am very sad in my heart and in my soul to be living in this time where I witness the tragic loss of these young people with so promise and so much to live for. I do believe that all things happen for a reason. In these cases as well as when I hear the daily death toll from Irag, I cannot grasp the reason why. This event will bring about changes in our campus security. The war death don't seem to be bringing any changes in our foreign policy.
One thing I know, there will be a brighter day. God promises us that in every rainbow we see. Here is a photo of a new day in FL.
God be with you.
